Great produce @ unbeatable prices, busy & a steady flow of people yet still manage to get through check out rather quickly with a helpful & courteous staff/employees. Although high humidity with a 110°F heat index would ruin the character of most employees, at an outdoor workplace, everyone is smiling & respectful towards the customers. I highly recommend Powell's Roadside Market, for a friendly atmosphere & great produce.
Good produce. They always have samples to taste how good the produce is. They also have a counter where the sell fresh homemade fudge. Check it out! I'll post pics later
The owner of this market regularly disrespects customers and employees, docks their time and doesn't give them breaks. She refers to her employees as underlings and pays all of her employees minimum wage while she makes enough to own a guest house. As for actual product quality, most of the stuff comes from the same place Food Lion gets theirs for, and Food Lion is cheaper by a large margin. If you want to go to a farmer's market, you should travel inland and avoid overpriced tourist traps like Powell's that are a cancer on Currituck County and Northeastern North Carolina.
Amazing fudge! $15 for pound & a half (6 segments). SO much better than at the beach! Great service! Go around back to fudge hut, it's air conditioned & nice lady making it! Fresh made on premises.
Roadside market on the side of the road on the way to and from Nags Head and Virginia. Real good selection, farm fresh food. Not too busy, they love you to browse. Some items are pricey but folks love buying from the farm.
